A warm welcome to one and all, I'm Nate Lanxon and this is Encoded's video show!

This week's show is all about interesting facts, and we'll start with a bit of information for all you style-obsessed narcissists out there: Afro Punk is NOT a hairstyle, it's a type of music currently being made popular by the hotly tipped New York beat combo Vampire Weekend. To celebrate this revelation, here's the video to their latest single, 'A Punk', which is out now.

'A Punk' is the second single to be taken from their eponymous debut album, and follows hot on the heels of the big radio hit 'Mansard Roof'. The video was directed by the excellent Hammer and Tongs, the guys behind 'Coffee and TV' by Blur and 'Pumping on your Stereo' by Supergrass, two of the most iconic videos of the last decade, and as you can see, they've lost none of their colourful charm with this effort.

Keeping with the old genre-fusion, the next video is the latest by Sam Duckworth, otherwise known as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Or the guy who's responsible for the worst-named sub-genre ever to blight the planet – Tweemo. Excuse me while I vomit in my own mouth.

'Find The Time' is taken from his second album, Searching For The Hows And Whys, and comes out on the 3 March. The team behind the video are Bugsy Riverbank Steel and Ross Elliot Cooper, aka OneInThree, who gained prominence last year with their promo for 'Promises' by Badly Drawn Boy.

Last up are Mystery Jets, back from a little hiatus with their latest single, 'Young Love', which features one of last week's video stars Laura Marling on backing vocals.

Since their debut album a couple of years ago, the band have undergone a few changes, most notably the growth of pubic hair and the departure of lead guitarist Henry, who also happens to be lead singer Blaine's father and a big musical influence on the band.

It would seem though that he taught his young strides well, as 'Young Love' carries forward the proggy pop sound that they made their own.

BONUS FACT: Did you know that Mystery Jets all live on an island in the middle of the Thames called Eel Pie Island? Well, as I've said before, you do now.

Thanks for watching, it's been my pleasure. See you next week.
