Video View: Laura Marling, The Cribs and British Sea Power

We've once again been seeking out the very latest music videos and have helpfully condensed our top picks into this slick show, presented by Nate Lanxon. Making it through to this week's final cut is Laura Marling's video for the beautiful single 'Ghosts'; The Cribs' 'I'm A Realist', which features sexy girls in underwear and death by plant pot; and British Sea Power's very own scary movie 'No Lucifer'.

Okay, hands up who thinks videos of sexy girls in their underwear are great? And who thinks they're even better when there's a guy with a good haircut flashing his unnaturally bald chest in it too? And who thinks you just can't beat it when a plant pot falls on the sexy girl's head and kills her when she's having a bath?

Ah haha, hilarious stuff, and for those of you still with your hands up, the new video from Yorkshire terriers The Cribs will probably be your favourite video ever. It sure as hell's mine!

'I'm A Realist' is out on 25 February, and is the final single to be taken from their big-selling third album Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever, which came out last year to a big fanfare, mainly from themselves, the cocky little b******s.

Not in her underwear is Laura Marling, which is an incredibly good thing as she's about 12 years old. Despite her lack of years – she's actually 18, she just looks young – Laura Marling has got an amazingly unique and seasoned voice, which she shows off with vigour on her latest single, 'Ghosts', which came out a couple of weeks back.

The video was directed by James Copeland, the man behind Noah and the Whale's brilliant 'Five Years Time' video, which came out last year and also featured Laura Marling.

Taken from her debut album Alas I Cannot Swim, 'Ghosts' is a great example of the new-folk vibes you should expect from the long player, and goes a little bit of the way to explaining why even the most sedate of radio DJs and music hacks have been reaching for the Gaviscon at the slightest mention of the Reading songbird.

Last up this week we've got a bit of a preview for you in the shape of the new video from British Sea Power. 'No Lucifer', which comes out on the 10 March, is the latest single to be taken from the hugely popular album Do You Like Rock Music?, which has catapulted the band into the mainstream in a way which is sure to annoy the borderline obsessives who stalk their every move.

WARNING: The following video features scary puppets and therefore should not be viewed by anyone who is, in any way, afraid of evil – possibly blood-thirsty – marionettes. Viewer discretion is therefore advised and no responsibility will be taken for any lasting psychological or emotional scarring.

Whether 'No Lucifer' will repeat the success of their last single 'Waving Flags' remains to be seen. It's got a couple of naughty words in, for a start, which never goes down well with daytime radio, but if they're looking for more of an after-dark appeal, then this video is a good place to start, as it's a little bit scary.

Don't laugh, I'm going home.

Thanks very much for the warning. It enabled me to prepare myself for the scary puppets. There's a very good chance I would have been disturbed otherwise.
