Hi, I’m Nate Lanxon and this is my lovely Live Listings show.
Former Beach Boy Brian Wilson will play three gigs in the UK this summer, with two dates in London and one in Ipswich. The pop legend's shows take place at the end of June and beginning of July, and tickets can be bought from the usual online places.
A load of acts have just been announced to play this year's Summer Sundae Weekender in Leicester, with Simian Mobile Disco, Jeffrey Lewis and the exciting new Kings of Convenience side-project Whitest Boy Alive being the pick of the crop. It takes place at De Montfort Hall on the 8th, 9th and 10th of August, and tickets are available from the official festival website www.summersundae.com.
Always quick to adopt someone else's idea of cool and try and make it better, hipper, sexier and more annoying, those ironic spectacle-wearers in London's trendy Hoxton area have managed to snatch a piece of the Dot to Dot Festival pie with the imaginatively named Hox to Dot, which takes place on the 22nd of May.
Cynicism aside, this event has got an amazing line-up, including Chrome Hoof, and Dan Deacon, so dig out your skinniest denims and join the party by going to ticketmaster.co.uk.
If you combine the age of every single band confirmed to play Hox to Dot, you get the exact age of REM, who have announced the UK leg of their forthcoming European tour.
As well as the usual festival appearances, Michael Stipe and his cronies will be playing shows in Manchester, Cardiff, Southampton and London. All stadiums, of course. Tickets will available from all the usual outlets, ie Scouse and cockney touts outside the venues.
Right, I need to go now so i"ll have to love you and leave you. Catch you later, internet.
