I cannot wait to see this film. It will be interesting to see if people will accept anyone but William Shatner as Captain Kirk.

I rekon there should be a film about voyager as i thought that was the best series ever! Loved it!
A massive war between the delta quadrent and alpha! That would be good watching!
Hate the new series enterprise its just dog!

a couple of comments/ views:
-original series and next gen were great based on the charactors.
-the enterprise IS star trek
-the new movie will have the ship so if the charactors are good then the movie will be well received!

hi there i made a tv program called lost can i take youre iconic tv show add new actors in the roles and go back in time while they were a)very young and b) not all on the same ship (as they are at the academy and werent allowed on mass to crew starships)and have them have jolly adventures on board a strangly modern looking gen 1 constitution class ship.
response ; no go away and play with your handicam.

Unfortunatly this didnt happen so RIP startrek . Sadly passed from us xmas 08 .

Well i gotta say i am excited about this movie but iv never forgave them for killing off Data in the last movie he was my favourite character of the lot and the stupidly killed him the Feckers

Well frankly I don't give a damn what you think but I do understand one thing, the reason they haven't got a new next gen movie out is because everyone moved on. Nearly everyone from the old crew were gone and Voyager, weeeellll its USS Voyager not Enterprise. Don't be thinking I hate Voyager I loved that series just as much as the next fan, but its just not "the ship" They should do a new series further into the future, I want to see the a enterprise future ship.

Frankly I am so bored with "old" star trek stories and I detest them keep going back in time. Move forward and onwards!! next gen and Voyager were and still are brill. I gave up watching the newer star trek. Wonder if Gene R would have approved?? Cloverfield was an amazing film that gave a refreshing take on films, rather than the usual beginning middle and predictable end.

I can't wait to see this new star trek how ever it would have been great to see a follow on from Voyager and DS9 with either Admiral Janeway or Captain Ben Sisko

sorry i thought cloverfield was great. open up to a new way of making movies and telling a good story

i agree. the past is the past. nothing wrong with the last series. i loved it and didn't understand why it was seen as a failure. excited about the the new film though. what would be wonderful would be a new serie where everything has gone wrong, a much darker future. old enemies having to work together and new threats.

I agree...we should stop going back in time with star trek if it were a good idea wouldnt the last tv series had done better....I myself would like to see something fresh and new maybe more with voyager....either way its nice to see them working on it again i will keep my fingers crossed for a cool tv series

There's always something in a Star Trek movie which spoils it. In this one it will be going back in time. We already have Enterprise on TV. Move on ! Have not heard one good thing about Cloverfield yet. Is this the shape of things to come?

1. star trek with wolf
2. star trek enterprise E
3. star trek ds9 back
4. star trek with a brand new ship
5. star trek is the best so keep us going with it

star trek for me has to keep going forward like deep space nine coming back and the new enterprise E with joan luc or wolf or a new ship all together the bottom line is the is not a new star trek on tv please stephen mckenna from glasgow

great looking film but as many other star trek films they have always had the chance to make a great film but never seem to make it quite right as for clover field what a pile of home made crap nearley two hours of bordum trying to be the same as the blair witch which was also boring any way i hope this film does it justice

look good, looking forward to seeing it
but you cannot beat the 1st ones :-)

notte be a geek but the first constitution class wasnt called enterprise until after its first mission and kirks dad was first officer not kirk he was the third captain 10 years ish later so why is the ship labelled enterprise and how can a youg kirk be captain yet again we are messing with written timeline to make a good film .cloverfield was not good and they shouldnt be making a prequel there is enough in the 24 century to keep them busy.

Wow this is going to be really good, being a trekkie myself i cannot wait to see this film.
Its about time we tried something new like this i just hope they (JJ Abrams) does the franchise justice.

cloverfield was a pile of crud dude...i am very dubious of jj abrams touching such beautiful material...he may ruin any chances of anymore star trek films...

Why do we have to go back in time....again!! I would much rather leave the pre kirk days to my imagination. First contact for me is part of my history as so is the legendary Kirk. I don't want to see what my parent were like when they were children. I would be out of my time. And so, as serious trekies anything before Jean Luke and Katey J would be out of our time. That said I will go along and I will have plenty to say to anyone who says it's anything other then fantastic. Honnor, loyalty and duty, above all else!!!!

cloverfield was awesome, as an old trekkie i cant wait to see what he does with star trek, if cloverfield is anything to go by we are in for an exciting time. jm
