According to CNET.co.uk's Andrew Lim, the Sony Ericsson W890i Walkman phone could go down in mobile phone history as one of the best Sony Ericsson handsets ever. It greatly improves upon its W880i predecessor with a solid, slim casing, and it could even replace your MP3 player as your main music device.
Album Focus: Neon Neon – 'Stainless Style'
Encoded | 20 March 2008
This week we get shiny, bright and super non-stick with Neon Neon, whose debut album Stainless Style has just been released. Neon Neon is a collaborative project between Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys and electro pioneer Boom Bip, who first hooked up a couple of years ago when Gruff provided the vocal for Boom Bip's track 'Dos and Don'ts.' Now they've decided to do a whole album together and roped a load of their pals in to help, and the result is one of the most infectious, accessible and ultimately poppy albums that you'll hear this year.
The Last Shadow Puppets – 'The Age of the Understatement'
Music Videos | 11 March 2008
'The Age of the Understatement', out on 21 April on Domino, is the debut release from the LP of the same name by the so-hot-right-now The Last Shadow Puppets, aka Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys fame and Miles Kane from The Rascals. The video is directed by Romain Gavras and it tracks the duo's adventures in Moscow, mystically combining a figure skater, an Orthodox priest and Soviet tanks.

Aussie horror flick Black Water takes the classic victims-in-a-single location setting and gives it a fresh spin. A trio of holiday makers on an outback expedition make the unfortunate decision to hire a boat to head upriver into remote jungle. When their boat is upturned by a huge crocodile, our heroes clamber to apparent safety. Unfortunately, they're miles from civilisation, and the only way out is to get back in the water...

There seems to be an unofficial rule in Hollywood that every year a small unassuming indie movie does battle with the big budget goliaths for box office and Oscar success. Last year it was Little Miss Sunshine, and this year it falls upon the slender shoulders of Juno. This witty comedy drama is the surprise fifth Oscar nominee for Best Picture this year, and more than holds its own against its more high profile rivals. It's the story of a 16-year-old girl from a small town who upon the discovery that she has fallen pregnant decides she must find more responsible parents for her as-yet unborn child...
Peugeot 207 GTi THP 175 Octane: White-hot hatch
Car Tech | 31 January 2008
The Peugeot 207 GTi THP 175 Octane edition is one of our favourite 'whips' to date. It's a hot hatchback with more high-tech gadgets than CES and more performance than is good for the state of your licence. It boasts rain-sensitive wipers, a 30GB hard drive for stashing your music, a sat-nav, auto-directional headlights and an in-dash mobile phone system. It even has its own sunglasses, or as Peugeot would say, an athermic windscreen to reflect UV light. Take a look...

Video View: Bjork, Example, MGMT
Encoded | 16 April 2008
We have three visually stunning videos to tickle your ear-buds this week. Wanderlust is a collaboration between Bjork and production team Sean Hellfrisch and Isaiah Saxon, and is a mixture of large scale puppeteering, miniatures, and CG, Fulham rudeboy Example's latest shows what can be achieved on a much smaller budget, and MGMT's Time To Pretend has a zebra holocaust and hundreds of badly animated dolphins.
Movie Review: I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK
Reel Weekend | 04 April 2008
Chan-wook Park's I'm A Cyborg is not your typical romantic comedy. It opens with a woman cutting her own wrists, and proceeds to tell the story of Young-goon, a mentally ill girl who is convinced she is a killer android and has violent fantasies about massacring a bunch of doctors. Unlike Park's previous film Oldboy, there's no octopus gobbling, but fans of Asian splatter will still lap up the scenes of robotic mayhem.
