Tom Hanks stars in the story of Charles Wilson, a womanising, party-loving Democratic congressman, who in the early 80s led a campaign to arm the freedom fighters of Afghanistan in their fight against the pesky Soviets. Legendary director Mike Nichols works from a script by West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin in a spiky satire that is already attracting awards attention. Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman complete the excellent supporting cast.

Little Dragon's 'Twice' video is a beautiful example of shadow puppetry, created by the highly talented Swedish director Johannes Nyholm, whose other projects include The Knife's 'Heartbeat' video and The Tallest Man on Earth's 'It Will Follow The Rain'. The song is the opening track on their debut album Little Dragon, and, along with 'Test', was released as their first double A-side single on Peacefrog Records.

For those of you who've suffered the stress of having a pet go missing, here's something that may well appeal – the Zoombak Pet Locator is essentially a GPS unit you strap to your dog's collar. The system will alert you by text message and email when your pet leaves a designated 'safe area', and gives you the location your happy hound has bounded into, all in real time. You can also log on to the Zoombak Web site and see where your pet is, on-demand. CNET.co.uk got a closer look at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Alienware wowed CNET.co.uk at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with not one, but two incredible pieces of technology. First up was its 42-inch Curved Display, which redefines the term widescreen. It's curved like an enormous pair of wrap-around shades -- the idea being that it provides a more immersive gaming experience. And last but not least was the Alienware ALX -- which drew a pretty big crowd because of the sheer outlandishness of its specification and the awesome styling of its new P2 chassis. We've all been there. No-one likes a dirty house, but no-one wants to do the housework. Time to put an end to those all-too-familiar arguments with iRobot's latest version of the gadgets to take away the pain of cleaning your abode.
The Roomba 560 is a re-designed version of iRobot's robotic cleaner. With better suction and a new design, you simply push a button and watch as it works its way around the floor of your house, changing direction if it hits an obstacle. CNET.co.uk went to see it in action, along with some of iRobots' other clever cleaning devices, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The new YP-T10 is another superb music and video player from Samsung. Its touch-sensitive navigational pad glows with every stroke, and its build exerts professionalism and style. With key updates including image and video support, this is one great player, hands down. It even features a dancing dog called Sammy.
